The first edition of theGolden Compass. International Award” will take place this year with the theme “Design for Food and Nutrition”. This theme was selected to enhance the role of design as a tool for the innovation and sustainable development in a cultural, social, environmental and economic sense of food production and communication systems, distribution and consumption.      

Both companies and individual designers can participate and the deadline for submission of applications has been set for 30 April 2015. Several awards will be handed out, some of the categories that will receive an award are best products and processes and services related to food. 


The prize also includes an international edition of the “Targa Giovani”, an award that is especially reserved for young designers from design schools. For the first edition a cash prize of 30,000 Euros will be given  to the best project carried out by students at university level.
