The <\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN>first edition of the<\/SPAN> \u201cGolden Compass<\/SPAN>. International<\/SPAN> Award\u201d<\/SPAN> will take place <\/SPAN>this year<\/SPAN> with the theme \u201cDesign for<\/SPAN> Food and Nutrition<\/SPAN>\u201d. This theme was selected to enhance the role of design as a tool<\/SPAN> for the innovation and<\/SPAN> sustainable development<\/SPAN> –<\/SPAN> in a cultural<\/SPAN>, social<\/SPAN>, environmental and economic sense<\/SPAN> –<\/SPAN> of food production and<\/SPAN> communication systems<\/SPAN>, distribution<\/SPAN> and consumption.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>

Both companies<\/SPAN> and individual designers<\/SPAN> can participate and the deadline<\/SPAN> for submission of applications<\/SPAN> has been<\/SPAN> set for 30 April 2015<\/SPAN><\/B>.<\/SPAN> Several awards will be handed out, some of the categories that will receive an award are best products<\/SPAN> and processes and services<\/SPAN> related<\/SPAN> to food<\/SPAN>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/P>

The prize also includes<\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/SPAN> an international edition<\/SPAN> of the \u201cTarga<\/SPAN> Giovani\u201d<\/SPAN>, an award that is especially reserved for young<\/SPAN> designers<\/SPAN> from design schools<\/SPAN>. For the first<\/SPAN> edition<\/SPAN> a cash prize of<\/SPAN> 30,000<\/SPAN> Euros<\/SPAN> will be given \u00a0<\/SPAN>to the<\/SPAN> best<\/SPAN> project carried out by<\/SPAN> students at university level<\/SPAN>. <\/SPAN>
